Why are the acts of desire ostracized from public spaces? What happens to those who cannot afford their own space? What happens to the impatient, the spontaneous and the passionate ones?

Quickie Booth is a bolt-on kit consisting of a rail with curtain for privacy, a handle that gives secure grip and works as clothes and handbag hanger and a comfortable seat. Quickie Booth brings back desire and passion to London’s public spaces in an elegant and affordable way for all Londoners.

Quickie Booth is Studio Synthetica’s proposal for the Ideas On A Postcard Please competition. The brief asked creative individuals to come up with a proposal for a small scale project, product or build that embodies the spirit of humanitarian design, or anything that demonstrates how design can be used to make Londoner’s lives better and happier. Studio Synthetica strongly believes the large amount of endorphins and happiness produced in Quickie Booth in combination with its inclusive and egalitarian character is the ultimately humanitarian design gesture. Quickie Booth will make London a better place to live!
